What's in a name?
So, you want to know where the verity•think name came from? Essentially, it came from three very different yet strangely related places:
- To highlight the fact that I am sharing my thoughts - not those of an organization or group (i.e. groupthink) - in hopes of collaborating with others in the spirit of an open, virtual think tank.,
- To pay respect to the concept of doublethink, outlined by George Orwell in 1984, which had a huge impact on me while working in North Korea, and
- To make a play on my surname, Verity, which is defined as “a true principle or belief, esp. one of fundamental importance”.
Not much else to the story.
